Due to continued growth of The Lime Kiln Julianstown we are looking to recruit a number of staff to join our kitchen team – Commi Chef, Chef de Partie & Baker. We are looking for applicants with a real passion for food that can meet the challenges of working in a fast paced environment.
Commis Chef
Ideal opportunity for school leaver with a strong interest in catering to join a busy award winning kitchen team. No experience necessary but must have a willingness to learn quickly and work hard. Main duties to assist the Head Chef and fellow team members with food preparation and cooking.
Key Requirements:
- Ability to learn on your feet and work hard under pressure
- Be passionate about preparation, cooking and serving of food and adhere to agreed quality standards
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have fluent English
- Be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of service and hygiene
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and a team player
- Have excellent organisational skills
- Keen to progress in their career and eager to learn new skills.
Chef de Partie
Ideal opportunity for a progressive, creative and ambitious Chef to take the next step in their career. You’ll work with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and the rest of the kitchen team to ensure outstanding food is produced and high standards are maintained.
Key Requirements:
- Passionate about cuisine and has a flair for working with the highest quality, locally sourced, seasonal ingredients
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and a team player
- Keen to progress in their career and eager to learn from senior chefs
- HACCP trained and adheres to food hygiene standards at all times
- Friendly and professional with fellow team members
- Professionally trained and has a minimum of 2 years kitchen experience.
Baker
We are seeking an experienced baker, with focus and a passion for baking. Applicants will have strong artisan bakery skills such as experience of long fermentation process, hand moulding, hand finishing and scratch baking. The Baker appointed will utilise craft skills to create fresh breads, confectionery, cakes and savouries.
Sour dough experience essential.
Key Requirements:
- HACCP trained and adheres to food hygiene standards at all times
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and diligent
- Knowledge of ordering, stock control and waste management
- Attention to detail
- Work as part of a busy team
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Excellent planning, organizing skills and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Must be available for early starts and night shifts.
- Must have at least 2/3 years experience as a Baker.
